What changed in the world of social media in November 2025? Well read on to find out!
ICYMI: October 2025 Social Media Updates
Facebook Updates
Call To Action (CTA) Stickers
Meta are rolling our CTA stickers on ads, currently there are a limited array of Call to Actions that you can apply to your ad creatives and they’re pre-determined by Meta both in words and design. That’s all changing now, Meta are allowing you to design your own CTA’s that you can apply to any ad creatives.
This should allow you to generate more eye catching ad creatives that are more tailored to your target audience!
Advantage+ Campaigns are now default
Meta updated its Ads Manager to make Advantage+ automation tools the default option for new ad campaigns. In the past there would be a number of toggle switches that Meta would recommend that you apply through the ad creation process. Now Meta has enabled them by default, and in our opinion not all of these features are ready to be on by default yet. So make sure if you’re building a new ad campaign that you review the Advantage+ features that are enabled.
Potential addition of Community Notes
Meta is looking to expand its “Community Notes” feature to more regions, this is a feature that has become more popular on Twitter/X. It’s a box that appears on posts where the “community” is able to moderate the post and comment on the factual correctness of a post.
It actually provides a great deal of value in the age of misinformation. It is not something that has been rolled out fully or mandated yet but would go a long way to beginning to correct the levels of factually incorrect information on social media.
Instagram Updates
3 Hashtag Limit
Instagram now limits the number of hashtags that can be add per regular post or reel to 3. This continues to demonstrate the shifting reliance on hashtags for discovery, in the past hashtags were a vital way of describing to the algorithm what your content is. AI is now the primary discovery agent and Meta will actively scan your content and allocate a description to it, so it’s now more important than ever to make it really clear what your content is about and ensure the caption is also clear.
Sorting Reels Features
Instagram is testing the ability to sort reels by “Latest” or “Most viewed, as a creator this means that people will be able to quickly either view your highlight reel or check out what you’ve been publishing most recently. Not a game changer, but worth considering when thinking about how others may consume your content.
Reels Camera New Features
Instagram added four new features for the Reels camera
- A 20-minute recording length for videos.
- A new “Undo” button for previously recorded clips.
- A new slider control option for the “Touch-Up” feature.
- An updated green screen experience.

TikTok Updates
Anti-Brain Rot Feature
TikTok added a new “Time and Well-Being” space in the app that offers a range of well-being exercises and activities. This hub offers users an affirmation journal, soothing sound generator, and breathing exercises. These features build upon existing tools like screen time limits and meditation defaults.
New Well-being Missions encourage mindful digital habits, rewarding users (especially teens) for staying off the app during sleep hours and meeting screen time goals.
More AI Features
TikTok added three new, AI-powered features for content creators:
- Image to Video – Upload a photo and describe how you want it to move.
- Text to Video – Type what video you want and AI will create it.
- AI Transition – Describe how your first frame should transform into the last.
No more YouTube and Instagram Links
TikTok has removed the “YouTube” and “Instagram” links from the “Edit Profile” section. There is no formal word on why they have done this, but as TikTok becomes a strong competitor for Meta and Google, it could be a way of avoiding allowing Instagram and YouTube a competitive space on TikTok.
LinkedIn Updates
Updates to LinkedIn Events
LinkedIn are introducing new updates to LinkedIn Events, making it easy for marketers to “efficiently scale events of any size, reach the right audience, and measure impact across the entire funnel – on or off LinkedIn.”
LinkedIn have essentially applied ad management practices to events, you can “boost” posts to increase reach and then specifically highlight target audiences for the event. IRL events are predicted to become a vital part of social media and marketing in general so this could become a key strategic element in making sure your event becomes the one with the highest attendance!
Final Takeaway
These updates continue to demonstrate the trend that video is king, social platforms want to make it easier for users to create high quality engaging video. AI tools, features, and enhancements are being implemented with the intention that barriers of skill are being removed and that anyone can be a content creator.
